The picture-perfect place of Gangtok, Tsongmo Lake also known as Changu Lake is a must-visit site of this region. It is a glacial lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains offering pleasant climatic conditions ideal for tourism. During winters the place receives an adequate amount of snowfall which covers the entire place and makes the lake frozen. Tourists also take a yak ride along the lake which offers a unique experience.
Placed on the Indo-China border, Nathula Pass is one of the popular tourist spots located at a distance of 58km from the city of Gangtok. Although it offers a panoramic view of the valley, the pass comes under the protected areas of Indian Territory due to which visitors need to obtain a permit from the government of Sikkim. From here you can witness the Chinese territory and be amazed by the tranquillity of the valley.
